Why is the gel polish so thick?
Gel polishes are thick due to their unique formulation. Gel polishes contain a higher concentration of resins, which is what makes the polish adhere to your nails. Gel polishes also tend to have a higher pigment concentration compared to regular nail polishes. This means better color density for you!
As gel polishes require curing under LED lamps, the formulation needs to be thick enough to make sure it doesn't spread out during application and can be evenly cured under the light without pooling or running.
